Before submitting a price for your project, I must evaluate several pages of your manuscript to determine the level of editing or proofreading it needs. I typically request to review the first 2,000 words and ten pages from the middle of the manuscript. My rates are within industry standards set by the Editorial Freelancers Association. For copyediting and proofreading projects, my proposal will include a free 2,000-word sample edit so that you can get a feel for my editing style. For publisher clients, I will complete a copyediting or proofreading test if required.
